Hearing Instrument Specialist
Alyssa Wadley, H.I.S., graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with dual degrees; a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics. She first became interested in hearing aids during her tenure at UT and her love of hearing grew from there. Alyssa has almost four years of experience working in hearing healthcare, beginning with work as an Audiology Assistant in an Ear, Nose, and Throat clinic, where she learned to test hearing. She then began a full-time apprenticeship to become a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist, ultimately achieving that goal.
According to Alyssa, the best part of her job is the moment people put on hearing aids for the first time. It is a special moment when people’s eyes light up as they hear clearly in a way they have not been able to for many years. It is her passion to help improve communication between her patients and their loved ones through access to better hearing. She has had the pleasure of working with adults of all ages and backgrounds, helping them understand their hearing loss and finding a personalized solution that works for them.
In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys going out to the dog park or hiking with her two dogs, Hadley and Lupin. As a life-long learner, she enjoys reading and learning about new topics and perspectives. We are lucky to have her and we’re excited for you to experience her outstanding level of treatment!
